Thibault LAUGEL

Research Scientist in Machine Learning

TRAIL (Sorbonne Université - AXA)

Hi!

I am currently working as a Researcher in the TRAIL lab, a joint AI research lab by Sorbonne Université (Paris, France) and AXA. I am also a Research Scientist at AXA, in the Research and Advanced ML team, and an Industry Fellow at Codex, the Center for Legal Informatics from Stanford where I was a visiting researcher for 6 months.

Previously, I did my Ph.D. in Machine Learning at Sorbonne Université in Paris, in the LIP6 lab, working on Explainable AI. I hold a MSc. in Machine Learning from ENS Cachan ("MVA" MSc.) and a MSc. in Data Science from ENSAE ParisTech. Before pursuing a Ph.D., I worked as a Product Data Scientist at Deezer in Paris and Turo in San Francisco.

Research interests: My research mainly focuses on machine learning interpretability (or explainability), and more generally Responsible AI (robustness, fairness, accountability, privacy...). Feel free to reach out to discuss any topic! I am interested in researching these issues both in a technical and inter-disciplinary approach.
